How it works
Add your Markdown file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to Plain text, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert Markdown (.md) to plain TXT when you need lightweight text for scripts, search, imports or analysis rather than a formatted document.

Files are temporary and deleted automatically.

Markdown is already text-based, but it carries meaning through punctuation and structure. A TXT export does not preserve a rendered document model, so inspect whether the remaining text suits your downstream workflow.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
TXT can be useful for systems that expect plain text without a Markdown extension or rich document container.
Characters such as #, *, backticks and brackets can carry structural meaning in Markdown. Depending on import and export interpretation, the TXT result may not be identical to either the original source syntax or a rendered preview.
Use the original Markdown when headings, links, code fences or other markup semantics need to remain machine-readable as Markdown.
The result is produced as Plain text (text/plain). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts Plain text but your source file is Markdown.
Markdown and Plain text can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the Markdown source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new Plain text result rather than merely renaming the extension.
Markdown is primarily text-based. It carries much less page-layout information than a word-processing format, so a richer output cannot reconstruct formatting that was never present. Markdown is imported through the office pipeline, not through a dedicated Markdown rendering engine. Verify whether Markdown punctuation was interpreted as expected or remained literal text.
TXT keeps plain text only. Page layout, images, rich styling and most document structure are intentionally not represented.
This conversion is intentionally destructive for layout: the useful result is the textual content, not a visual copy of the source document. Markdown is imported through the office pipeline, not through a dedicated Markdown rendering engine. Verify whether Markdown punctuation was interpreted as expected or remained literal text. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
Check character encoding, line breaks, special characters and whether text markup or whitespace was interpreted as intended.
The downloaded file uses Plain text. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
