What MimiFile processes, why it is needed, how long temporary files remain available and what rights users have.

Data we process
When you convert a file, MimiFile receives the file you choose, the requested output format and temporary information needed to complete the conversion and return the result.
Technical information such as IP-related data, request headers, dates, times and requested pages may also be processed for delivery, security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
- Uploaded file and converted result
- Temporary conversion identifier, source and target format, status and timestamps
- Technical and security information related to the request
- Search terms and unit or currency conversion requests
Why we process it
Processing is limited to providing the requested service, preventing abuse, securing the infrastructure and keeping the service reliable. Conversion processing is performed because the user requested the service; security and abuse prevention rely on MimiFile's legitimate interest in operating a safe service.
Temporary files and retention
MimiFile is not a file-storage service. Converted files remain available only long enough for the download, then they are removed automatically. A storage or security incident may cause earlier deletion.
Service providers and data locations
The main server is hosted by Hetzner in Germany. Cloudflare provides network delivery and security services. Currency rates are obtained by MimiFile from the configured rate provider; uploaded files are not sent to that provider.
- Hosting region
- Germany, European Economic Area

Network processing and international transfers
MimiFile’s main server is in Germany. When Cloudflare proxying is enabled, web traffic, including file-upload requests, can pass through Cloudflare’s global network. Cloudflare states that its standard data-processing terms use recognised safeguards for international transfers where required. MimiFile therefore does not describe Cloudflare traffic as EU-only unless a specific data-localisation setting is actually enabled.
Advertising and cookies
If Google AdSense is enabled, advertising is handled separately from file conversion. Where the law requires consent, non-essential advertising technologies must remain disabled until the user has made a valid choice.
Your rights
Depending on the legal basis and applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority.
