How it works
Add your Markdown file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to Microsoft Word 97–2003, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert a Markdown (.md) document to legacy Microsoft Word DOC when an older application or workflow specifically requires Word 97–2003 format.

Files are temporary and deleted automatically.
Limits: 50 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.
Add your Markdown file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to Microsoft Word 97–2003, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
MimiFile uses LibreOffice's document import/export pipeline rather than a dedicated GitHub Markdown renderer. Review Markdown-specific structures before replacing the MD source.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
DOC can be useful for legacy Word-compatible systems that do not accept Markdown or modern DOCX. The conversion creates an editable binary Word document from the imported source.
Markdown dialects differ. Verify headings, nested lists, tables, fenced code, raw HTML, links and images because LibreOffice import may not match GitHub, CommonMark or another Markdown renderer exactly.
DOC uses an older document model and may simplify structures during import or export. Retain the MD file as the lightweight source of truth when its markup matters.
The result is produced as Microsoft Word 97–2003 (application/msword). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts Microsoft Word 97–2003 but your source file is Markdown.
Markdown and Microsoft Word 97–2003 can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the Markdown source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new Microsoft Word 97–2003 result rather than merely renaming the extension.
Markdown is primarily text-based. It carries much less page-layout information than a word-processing format, so a richer output cannot reconstruct formatting that was never present. Markdown is imported through the office pipeline, not through a dedicated Markdown rendering engine. Verify whether Markdown punctuation was interpreted as expected or remained literal text.
Microsoft Word 97–2003 is intended for editable word-processing content. It can preserve rich structure, but application-specific fields, styles, tracked changes, fonts or embedded objects may map differently.
Different document formats have different feature models. Keep the original when exact editability, typography, formulas, media or application-specific behavior matters. Markdown is imported through the office pipeline, not through a dedicated Markdown rendering engine. Verify whether Markdown punctuation was interpreted as expected or remained literal text. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
Check character encoding, line breaks, special characters and whether text markup or whitespace was interpreted as intended.
The downloaded file uses Microsoft Word 97–2003. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
