How it works
Add your PSD file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to AVIF, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert a PSD composite to AVIF when efficient modern image compression matters more than preserving Photoshop editability. The output is a flat image, not a layered design file.

Limits: 50 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.

AVIF can represent alpha transparency, but it does not preserve the PSD as an editable Photoshop document. MimiFile flattens the composite and currently encodes AVIF at quality 82.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
They are not preserved as editable layers. MimiFile converts the visible composite result to AVIF, so masks, editable text, smart objects and layer structure are flattened.
AVIF supports alpha transparency, so transparent areas in the decoded PSD composite can be represented in the output.
Compare small text, gradients, edges and photographic detail with the PSD composite. MimiFile currently uses an AVIF quality setting of 82, so the output is a new compressed image.
The result is produced as AVIF (image/avif). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts AVIF but your source file is PSD.
PSD and AVIF are not interchangeable containers. MimiFile decodes the visible image from PSD, normalizes it and writes a new AVIF file. AVIF is useful when reducing delivery size matters and the destination software supports modern AVIF decoding.
For a PSD, MimiFile converts the composite preview image. Editable Photoshop layers, masks and layer structure are not preserved. Orientation is applied before the output is written, so the pixels are saved in the displayed orientation. Embedded metadata is stripped from the converted image.
AVIF supports compressed image encoding; the final size and visual fidelity depend on the encoder settings and the source content. MimiFile currently writes AVIF with an encoder quality setting of 82. AVIF can carry transparency, so an alpha channel present in the decoded source can be retained.
AVIF is useful when reducing delivery size matters and the destination software supports modern AVIF decoding.
Compare the AVIF result with the original PSD before replacing your source, especially when color, transparency, small text or fine photographic detail matters.
The downloaded file uses AVIF. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
