How it works
Add your MP4 file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to WebM, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert an MP4 video to WebM when a browser, web app or media workflow expects an open web-oriented video container.
MP4 → WEBM
Drag and drop, paste a file, or browse your device.
Files are temporary and deleted automatically.
Limits: 90 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.

This is a real transcode, not an extension change. MimiFile encodes WebM video with VP9 and, when an audio stream is present, encodes audio with Opus.
Current source limit : 90 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
For a standard conversion, the video worker uses FFmpeg with libvpx-vp9 for video and libopus for audio when the MP4 contains audio. The normal balanced profile uses CRF 37 for VP9 and 112 kb/s Opus audio.
MP4 and WebM are containers, but this route also changes the encoded media. Re-encoding video and audio can alter quality and file size even when duration and visible dimensions remain similar.
WebM is designed for web media and is widely supported by modern browsers. Check playback in the exact browser, app or publishing system you target, especially for older or restricted environments.
The result is produced as WebM (video/webm). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts WebM but your source file is MP4.
The downloaded file uses WebM. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
