How it works
Add your Plain text file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to OpenDocument Text, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert TXT to editable OpenDocument Text when you need to continue working with the content in LibreOffice, OpenOffice or another ODF-compatible editor.
TXT → ODT
Drag and drop, paste a file, or browse your device.
Files are temporary and deleted automatically.
Limits: 50 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.

ODT can store rich structure, but TXT cannot. The conversion gives the text an ODT container; it does not infer headings, images, tables or styling that were absent from the source.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
Plain text is accepted here as text/plain. The current source-file limit is 50 MB.
The result is produced as OpenDocument Text (application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts OpenDocument Text but your source file is Plain text.
Plain text and OpenDocument Text can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the Plain text source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new OpenDocument Text result rather than merely renaming the extension.
Plain text is primarily text-based. It carries much less page-layout information than a word-processing format, so a richer output cannot reconstruct formatting that was never present.
OpenDocument Text is intended for editable word-processing content. It can preserve rich structure, but application-specific fields, styles, tracked changes, fonts or embedded objects may map differently.
Different document formats have different feature models. Keep the original when exact editability, typography, formulas, media or application-specific behavior matters. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
Check character encoding, line breaks, special characters and whether text markup or whitespace was interpreted as intended.
The downloaded file uses OpenDocument Text. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
