Rich Text Format and Microsoft Word 97–2003 can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the Rich Text Format source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new Microsoft Word 97–2003 result rather than merely renaming the extension.
Rich Text Format is a formatted word-processing document. It can contain paragraphs, styles, tables, page settings, fields, images and other layout-oriented objects.
Microsoft Word 97–2003 is intended for editable word-processing content. It can preserve rich structure, but application-specific fields, styles, tracked changes, fonts or embedded objects may map differently.
When moving between editable word-processing formats, compare page breaks, styles, lists, tables, headers/footers, fields and embedded objects. A richer destination does not restore information already absent from the source. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
Check fonts, pagination, headings, lists, tables, headers/footers, fields, comments or tracked changes, images and embedded objects.
The downloaded file uses Microsoft Word 97–2003. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
