PowerPoint presentation and Microsoft PowerPoint 97–2003 can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the PowerPoint presentation source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new Microsoft PowerPoint 97–2003 result rather than merely renaming the extension.
PowerPoint presentation is a slide-deck format with positioned objects, themes, fonts, media and potentially transitions or animations.
Microsoft PowerPoint 97–2003 keeps the result as an editable presentation format. Static slide content usually maps better than application-specific transitions, animations, media or theme behavior.
When moving between PPT, PPTX and ODP, compare fonts, theme colors, object positions, transitions, animations, audio/video and other application-specific effects slide by slide. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
