How it works
Add your FLAC file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to MP3 audio, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert FLAC audio to MP3 when you need smaller files and broad playback compatibility for phones, cars, portable players, sharing or web delivery.

FLAC is lossless, while MP3 is lossy. Creating an MP3 discards audio information during encoding, so keep the original FLAC when you need a lossless master.
Current source limit : 90 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
MP3 is supported by a very wide range of players, apps and devices and is usually much smaller than lossless FLAC. It is useful for distribution when storage or compatibility matters.
No. FLAC preserves the decoded audio without lossy compression, whereas MP3 intentionally removes information to reduce file size. A higher-quality source cannot make MP3 itself lossless.
Use the FLAC file as the archival or editing master when possible. Re-encoding the MP3 later cannot recreate information removed by the lossy MP3 encoding step.
The result is produced as MP3 audio (audio/mpeg). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts MP3 audio but your source file is FLAC.
The downloaded file uses MP3 audio. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
