How it works
Add your WebP file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to JPEG 2000, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert WebP to JPEG 2000 with temporary processing. This page shows the supported input, output and current size limit.

Files are temporary and deleted automatically.
Limits: 50 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.

WebP and JPEG 2000 can differ in compression, metadata, transparency, animation, container or codec support. The result follows the capabilities of JPEG 2000.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
WebP is accepted here as image/webp. The current source-file limit is 50 MB.
The result is produced as JPEG 2000 (image/jp2). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts JPEG 2000 but your source file is WebP.
WebP and JPEG 2000 are not interchangeable containers. MimiFile decodes the visible image from WebP, normalizes it and writes a new JPEG 2000 file. JPEG 2000 is useful in specialist imaging, archival and technical workflows that explicitly support JP2; browser and app compatibility is less universal than JPEG or PNG.
WEBP is processed as one static image for this conversion. Orientation is applied before the output is written, so the pixels are saved in the displayed orientation. Embedded metadata is stripped from the converted image.
JPEG 2000 supports compressed image encoding; the final size and visual fidelity depend on the encoder settings and the source content. MimiFile currently writes JPEG 2000 with an encoder quality setting of 90. JPEG 2000 can carry transparency, so an alpha channel present in the decoded source can be retained.

Compare the JPEG 2000 result with the original WebP before replacing your source, especially when color, transparency, small text or fine photographic detail matters.
The downloaded file uses JPEG 2000. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
