Converting MSCZ to MP3 changes what the destination file is designed to store. MuseScore Studio handles the export, so notation, layout, playback or audio characteristics can change with the target format.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
MSCZ is MuseScore’s compressed native score format and can carry an editable score plus project resources. MimiFile validates the MuseScore compressed score file before sending it to the isolated music worker. The source remains temporary and is not used as permanent score storage.
MP3 is a lossy audio format suited to convenient playback and sharing. MuseScore Studio opens the score and exports a new MP3 audio file using its native conversion engine.
Audio exports are rendered from the score with the MuseScore Basic sound profile. They represent playback, not editable notation.
Listen to the rendered audio before sharing it; instrument sounds, balance and expressive playback can differ between setups.
