Converting MIDI to MSCZ changes what the destination file is designed to store. MuseScore Studio handles the export, so notation, layout, playback or audio characteristics can change with the target format.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
MIDI stores timed note and performance events rather than engraved page layout. MimiFile validates the MIDI sequence file before sending it to the isolated music worker. The source remains temporary and is not used as permanent score storage.
MSCZ is MuseScore’s compressed native score format and can carry an editable score plus project resources. MuseScore Studio opens the score and exports a new MuseScore compressed score file using its native conversion engine.
MIDI mainly carries note and performance data. It does not preserve the original page layout, engraving or every notation symbol, so a MIDI-to-score result can require review.
Open the converted score in the destination notation app and review page layout, fonts and application-specific engraving.
