How it works
Add your Flat OpenDocument Text file. MimiFile checks the format, converts it to Microsoft Word 97–2003, and provides a temporary download when the result is ready.
Convert FODT to legacy DOC when an older Word-compatible application or archive workflow specifically requires the Word 97–2003 binary format.
FODT → DOC
Drag and drop, paste a file, or browse your device.
Files are temporary and deleted automatically.
Limits: 50 MB per file · 128 MB total per batch.

FODT is modern OpenDocument XML while DOC is an older binary format. Features without a direct legacy Word equivalent can be simplified or mapped differently.
Current source limit : 50 MB per file. Up to 10 files can be submitted in a batch, subject to the global batch ceiling.
Flat OpenDocument Text is accepted here as application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text-flat-xml. The current source-file limit is 50 MB.
The result is produced as Microsoft Word 97–2003 (application/msword). Features unsupported by the destination format cannot be preserved.
Use this when a service, device or workflow accepts Microsoft Word 97–2003 but your source file is Flat OpenDocument Text.
Flat OpenDocument Text and Microsoft Word 97–2003 can represent document structure differently. MimiFile imports the Flat OpenDocument Text source through its isolated office-processing pipeline and writes a new Microsoft Word 97–2003 result rather than merely renaming the extension.
Flat OpenDocument Text is a formatted word-processing document. It can contain paragraphs, styles, tables, page settings, fields, images and other layout-oriented objects.
Microsoft Word 97–2003 is intended for editable word-processing content. It can preserve rich structure, but application-specific fields, styles, tracked changes, fonts or embedded objects may map differently.
When moving between editable word-processing formats, compare page breaks, styles, lists, tables, headers/footers, fields and embedded objects. A richer destination does not restore information already absent from the source. The conversion is performed with an isolated headless LibreOffice profile. Features that have no equivalent in the destination format can be changed, flattened or omitted.
Check fonts, pagination, headings, lists, tables, headers/footers, fields, comments or tracked changes, images and embedded objects.
The downloaded file uses Microsoft Word 97–2003. Check the result if the source contains transparency, animation, embedded fonts, metadata or other format-specific features.
